USDMA Strengthens Early Warning and Emergency Response Systems Across Uttarakhand – 21 February 2026.
The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) is strengthening the state’s disaster preparedness and early warning systems through the installation of Automated Weather Stations (AWS) and Doppler Radars across various districts. The initiative will enable real-time weather monitoring and timely alerts to reduce disaster risks and loss of life. USDMA is also expanding GIS mapping of emergency resources, establishing Disaster Dedicated Radio Networks (DDRN) across districts and developing Tehsil Emergency Operation Centres (TEOCs) to enhance local-level response, communication and coordination during disasters.
