USDMA and NIDM Plan Large-Scale Disaster Management Training and Capacity Development in Uttarakhand.
20 September 2026 : The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) and the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) discussed a comprehensive plan to expand disaster management training and capacity development across Uttarakhand. An annual training calendar will be developed, with 10 master trainers to be prepared in every district in the first phase. The programmes will focus on disaster risk reduction, preparedness, search and rescue, emergency response, mock drills and practical training for officials and personnel at state and district levels.
