Chief Minister Expresses Grief Over Helicopter Crash Near Gangnani, Uttarkashi — 6 Passengers Dead
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash near Gangnani in Uttarkashi, in which six passengers lost their lives. He informed that SDRF and district administration teams immediately reached the accident site to carry out relief and rescue operations.
The Chief Minister has directed the administration to provide all possible assistance to the injured and has also ordered an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, Secretary, Disaster Management Shri Vinod Kumar Suman arrived at the Control Room with officials of the Disaster Management Department and monitored the rescue operation. He spoke over the phone with District Magistrate Uttarkashi, Shri Mehrban Singh Bisht, to take stock of the situation and gather updates on the ongoing rescue efforts. Continuous communication and updates were maintained between the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) and the ground teams engaged in the relief efforts.
On Thursday morning at 8:30 AM, the SEOC located at USDMA received information about the crash of an Aerotrans company helicopter near Gangnani in Uttarkashi district.

SEOC promptly obtained the geo-coordinates of the crash site to ensure no difficulties arise in providing air support during the rescue operation.
Secretary Shri Vinod Kumar Suman confirmed that six people lost their lives, and one person was injured in the accident. The injured was airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh via heli-ambulance. Postmortems of the deceased are being conducted at the Uttarkashi district headquarters.
